I used an ice machine for the first week and I continued with these packs. I ice 20-25 minutes at a time and they last that long. There are 2 sides to the pack: a padded one which gives you less coldness and the plastic side which is more intense. For my purpose, high inflammation after this surgery I use the most intense and it works fine. It also embarces almost the whole knee: front and back. I highly recommend them

**Q: Is there a video for how to put this on?**
A: No video, pretty straight forward. Just raps around the knee and the Velcro straps will hold it.  If you're using it for knee surgery buy 2. One will always be frozen

**Q: can you use it right out of the freezer?**
A: Yes you can, it has a soft lining instead of the usual hard plastic type. Some might find it a little cold the first few min, l didn’t, it lasts a long time and the straps allow it to be wrapped tight enough that you can even get up and move if needed.

**Q: Can you walk around while the product is on?**
A: We have 2 different brands of these ice packs.  Both tend to slip down when standing.  They work best when in a reclined position.  We use it during elevation of knee after total knee arthroplasty.  It has been very effective.  My husband liked it better than the expensive circulating ice machine because it has no tubing and is less restrictive.

**Q: Does the wrap cool the back of the knee at the same time as the front?**
A: Yes it does.

I bought this for my son after his elbow surgery (they took cartilage from his knee), and it’s been fantastic for helping with swelling and recovery. The wrap design makes it easy to use, it stays cold for a long time, and it fits securely around the knee without slipping. One thing to note: it can get very cold directly on the skin. We had to place a thin pillowcase in between for comfort. I specifically chose this product thinking we wouldn’t need to do that, so that was a little disappointing — but it’s not a dealbreaker since the pack itself works so well. ✅ Why it’s great: • Stays cold for a long time • Wrap design keeps it in place • Helps with swelling and post-surgery recovery • Easy to reuse and store ⚠️ Cons: • A bit too cold directly on the skin — needs a thin barrier Overall, this is a very effective knee ice pack. It’s been a huge help for my son’s recovery, and despite needing that little extra layer, I’d still recommend it for anyone dealing with knee injuries or surgery recovery.
