It is based on a highly integrated frequency synthesizer which offers high performance, compact size, low consumption and low cost. It has been designed to be used equally well outdoor and indoor, and can be connected to a PC for extra functionality using standard mini-USB 2.0 connector. This model includes a WSUB1G baseline unit plus an RFEM2.4G Expansion Module conveniently assembled and tested. When I first saw the price, I immediately assumed "You get what you pay for, so I won't be getting much." Wow - what a mistake on my part! In my 4+ decades as an electronic product development engineer, the RF Explorer gets my "Best Bang for the Buck Award" for "Best Value & Performance for the $$$". We were able to start using it immediately - the user interface is simple, easy to understand (even for those who might just be starting to play around with RF), and the menus are "rapid access" (no muss, no fuss, simple and straightforward to use). We're going to be purchasing several more in the very near future. I want to congratulate not only the engineers who designed this product, but the folks who drafted the users manual, too - well done in every respect!Photo FYI: We made a 3D fixture in-house in order to hold the RF Explorer upright with USB charging cable attached (the charging port is located on the bottom of the unit).
