Bought this for my Pa as he couldn't see his other phone that well. He likes it due to the screen and big buttons. Plus can easily use. Non technical

Abandoning complex intelligent functions, only retaining basic functions commonly used by the elderly such as calls, text messages, alarms, etc., with zero difficulty in getting started. The raised button design provides a clear tactile sensation, making it easy for blind and elderly people to dial.

Bought this to replace my elderly mothers ancient Nokia. Great little phone, nice and loud she can actually have telephone conversations again. Unsure about battery life etc as she’s only had it two days. She finds it easy to use and navigation, buttons etc are almost identical to the old Nokia. I would have given five stars but I did find it difficult to insert the sim, perhaps that was just me. All in all a great little easy to use phone for a great price

Physically the phone seems a really good option for older people, or those with Alzheimers like my mum, who has "broken" another phone. We live 100 miles away, so I just had to get a phone and a new sim card for her, then post it and see how long it takes her to lose, sorry break, break, this one. Now I accept the first mistake was my fault - I got her a Smarty sim as they're the cheapest. But they only work with 3G and above. This phone is only 2G, so I hold my hands up there, my bad. We've since tried EE, GiffGaff, O2 and T-Mobile, and it won't recognise a single card. They all work with 2G according to their customer service, and each time we give up on one card we break it down to the nano sim (because this phone takes the old giant sim card and literally no one else's phone in the world does) and it works in ours. My mum's also spending a small fortune on non-functioning sim cards and first month's calls and data (which she doesn't need as a smart phone is way beyond her grasp) in the process. Unfortunately I chucked the box and packaging out when it arrived as "what could go wrong with a £26 phone really?" Well everything as it goes. Think we'll just have to go to a physical shop and get whatever the simplest thing they have is with a functioning sim. It does make you think it's a shame there's not more options out there for older people, particularly those with dementia, but obviously they're not a big returning customer demographic so there's capitalism for you.

Very good phone

We bought this for a frail 98 year-old friend with serious visual impairment but no loss of cognitive ability. The strength of this phone is that the numbers on the keypad are large and clear. We went for the white on black keyboard as the clearest and she can read them. Beyond that, however, the phone is still too complicated, with two many unneceesary features, and consequent navigation problems for someone who just wants to make and receive calls, and send texts. I have inputted key numbers for her, but to access those numbers she will have to scroll down the names in alphabetical order; I haven't been able to find a 'search' for a name in the contacts list so it's luck she only has about 12 numbers. Although the keypad is good, the display on the screen is quite small. The instruction manual is very poor and badly written. For the price, we are happy enough that it can do the job when we have guided our friend on how to use it, but it isn't as straightforward as one might have hoped.

I bought it to use as a "home phone" to reach the kids at home when I am away. I don't want them to have smartphones, and I don't want a landline contract that cost a lot. I bought this and get a year plan with 1penny, save me a great deal.
