It is a direct replacement in all ratings and terminal locations. I had already replaced the original capacitor with separate 45uf and 5uf capacitors a few years ago, so I can't speak to the exact size and mounting clamp being the same or different as the original. This unit was easy to mount and is secure using the mounting clamp I made. One common reason for failure of this type of capacitor is power line fluctuations. That can occur if the power shuts off unexpectedly (e.g. storm), from lightning nearby, power spikes, and other types of power problems that cause voltage instability. Over time, the capacitor's performance will degrade until it fails. This is true of all polymer capacitors, not just the one from this supplier. I keep a spare capacitor because of the occasional power fluctuations we have in our area.
