For anytime- but summer is the best. - A friend had gotten one a year or so ago & we loved going over for friends & family functions because the ice was great. Fast forward & although a little pricey we decided this was our anniversary prez to each other. It was a pain to get it shipped since they don’t send to all parts of AK- but we did receive it, set it up & have been enjoying ice since! Our pup loves it too in her water dish now- so it helps keep her cool. I would recommend this make & model as we’ve seen it in action for over a year with no major problems. Review: DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! - Shame on me for buying this, as this is the 2nd one of these I’ve purchased!! The first one started leaking after about a year, of course, no warranty after the year. So bought the same one again cause I love the nugget ice it makes! This is my brand new one that started making this noise after 2 days-i called GE-they told me, drain it, unplug it and let it sit for 20 minutes and start over! Ok, and this is 6 days later-same BS!! Called GE since I filled out the warranty immediately and they said return it to desertcart-even though last time THEY replaced it even though i bought thru desertcart. They MIGHT replace it after 30 days-but since oh, it’s 2 weeks old-nope! MAKES NO SENSE!! These are not fixable, as I paid $100 for repair guy for machine 1 to look at it and says oh it needs a whole new internal motor which cost more than the whole machine! Now I have to ship this POS back to desertcart-and it’s heavy-i cannot lift it so need help taking to UPS store AND of course i threw the box away that it came in and it needs to be boxed! MORE MONEY!!!! Ok, I’m done!! Anyone have a recommendation for a reliable crunchy nugget ice machine! ## Features - OPAL NUGGET ICE, THE GOOD ICE: Serve up chewable, crunchable, craveable nugget ice that's ready fast and retains its flavor, unlike traditional hard cubes. The side tank is an optional accessory for this model. It is a convenient accessory to have as it will extend the time between the need to refill the icemaker to produce more "good ice" but is not required. We are glad you checked with us. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA **Q: Can you hook it up to a water line?** A: Hi - We appreciate your interest in our fabulous Profile Opal ice maker. No, our Opal ice makers are not designed to be connected to a water supply line. The reservoir is filled manually. We are glad you checked with us. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA **Q: Our GE Profile Opal 1.0 has failed. Will the side tank for it connect to the Opal 2.0? I don't care about it matching. Just if it works.** A: Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, your side tank can be used with the new Opal ice makers. We appreciate your loyalty to the Opal and our brand. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA **Q: Where can I buy the side tank to add on?** A: Not sure but when the factory one breaks he will send you a link to buy a new one. Instead of warranty replacing their defective junk! Do NOT BUY ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect!
