They worked great. Use the clear sleeve to twist them into the ground and you are good to go. Extremely happy **Q: Are these plastic?** A: yes,they are made from very strong recycled plastic. 2 of the large size have held down a 10'x10' ezup tent in 30mph winds for me. **Q: Would this work at the beach?** A: Absolutely.
