Review: Fantastic trainer! - This is an awesome thing to have if you’re someone who always needs something in your hands. I work in an industrial environment, so I made a slight modification to the tip and turned it into a usable flathead/pry bar. Initially, the handles had about .025" of play. A few light hammer taps against a flat surface closed the gap up nicely to about 10 thou and made the flipping feel much smoother. For this price, I’m really happy with it and would definitely buy one again.

It's made out of pure steel, so it can handle being dropped a few times, but it will pinch your thumb and hurt your knuckles if you are not careful. Unfortunately it does make your hand smell like metal after a while, but its not as strong as a handful of pennies. Since it's bushing are metal on metal, it will get stuck after a bit if you don't flick it hard enough, but a bit of oil or WD-40 can help. Overall 9.1/10, it's great for beginners, and it will last long thanks to the build quality.

**Q: What is the little tool that the trainer comes with that says free gift**
A: It's a little multi tool that acts at many things: a bottle opener, a knife, etc. Its basically a square shaped Swiss Army knife that you keep if your pocket.

**Q: Right out of the box, one of the handles is too tight and doesn't turn smooth at all. Is this a mistake on my knife in particular? Or a design flaw?**
A: As all new butterfly knives and trainers are made, you have to "break it in". This means you must attempt to open the knife and close the knife repeatedly, until the grease around the frame loosens and after about 2-3 hours of total flip time it should be fine.

**Q: is it  spring loaded**
A: While not technically spring loaded, there is a spring, it's on the latch that holds it closed. The opening of the knife is based on hand movement. On that note, many states, like Michigan, would consider it illegal to carry a true butterfly knife because it is mechanical...and dangerous.

**Q: is the blade under 2 inches?**
A: The imitation blade is approx 4 inches

It's a little on the heavy side, but it's great for beginners and definitely got me interested in more advanced flipping. It was a little squeaky and stiff at first, but put some WD-40 on it and you'll be fine.
