Does this have a hard outer shell for protection if dropped?

It's more rigid than hard, it's not like an ABS case or a hard plastic but I've dropped mine a few times and no harm done. Only downside for me is I have lifters on my sticks and the netting inside that holds the cable presses on them. So I have to take them off when I store my controller.
