And are they loose enough to easily get them in?** A: Yes there are pockets on each side/end.......at least on mine they are. While they are fairly secure I don't have any trouble fishing stuff out but they're pretty deep pockets; I use them mostly for pens, gum. Haven't tried them for a water bottle though and expect it might be snug. Love the organization of this purse; I carry a lot but don't like a really big bag.........this is perfect. **Q: would I be able to have two books maybe the size of a big reading book, water bottle, and maybe a couple other things?** A: their is a side pocket where you can put the water bottle. As for putting a big reading book idk, what are themeasurements? I would say a regular book you can. I just tried it out. **Q: Has anyone ordered the khaki/taupe purse? does your strap look totally different colored than the purse?** A: Yes, I ordered the taupe color and it looks more like a light lavender and the strap is a different color ,more what I would call the taupe color I ordered.
