I want to use it for cooking smells.** A: Ours has been switched on 24x7 since the first week in July last year and the filter is still working as normal. It has really worked for us as we use it in a ground floor bedroom which windows open into a conservatory so very little air flow and the bedroom felt stale. (Teenage boys bedroom). We no longer open the window at all now and the bedroom air is lovely and fresh with zero odours.
