I never put my Turmeric in the fridge (it will mold) and if I'm slow using it, I plant the ones that sprout. I put water on my turmeric every week or so to keep it from drying out. I let it sit in the water for a few hours, then pour off the excess. If any turmeric sprouts before I can use it, I just stick it in the flower beds or a pot. You'll have a plant in no time....and lots of turmeric. Don't overwater after planting or it'll rot. I also plant ginger this way. You would not believe the size of the ginger roots I get. **Q: What is the best way to store fresh Turmeric?** A: On the use and time length to consume. I use it in a salad, I cut them in very thin coins, than in quarters . To store I put them in containers with rice vinegar, 3 parts water to vinegar . You can use white wine as with ginger. It lasts me over six months, I also use the storage liquid . I do use both turmeric and ginger at the same time, they work because they are similar plant sisters. **Q: Is this GMO FREE and USDA Organic?** A: is sold as NON GMO. ORGANIC, and I assume, is true, and they do not use pesticides, etc, REMEMBER that "USDA organic" is an expensive label certification, made by the USDA/ESTABLISHMENT, in detreiment of consumers, trying to make it very difficult and expensive to be certified, and for the POLLUTERS and other non even label or need of certification. **Q: where is this from?** A: Turmeric from Jamaica is the lowest quality you can find, make sure when purchasing form sellers on this page (There are multiple sellers) that they send you the high quality roots like we do.
