Do you need to put a few coats of clear on after getting the neck to the shade of amber you want?

No, not necessarily, pretty much optional imo. What happens with the amber is that, as you apply more & more thin coats the color starts to really build up so you can control how "Amber" your neck actually gets. Once you arrive at the depth of color you like/were striving for, then its really up to you if it needs additional coats of Clear Lacquer. I had to do some coats of clear especially on the headstock after I applied a waterslide decal on it. Very easy to work with and a good product, have fun!

Great looking vintage amber finish for tele neck.

This came out great sprayed outside on a piece of cardboard. light coats with fine sanding in between came out best. Takes practice. I had to sand the first try off and do it again but the results are great. Looks very vintage. Beautiful amber color.

Warm it in Warm water and it flows like butter.

I used it on a telecaster neck. 10 light coats. It looks and feels like Fender painted it.
