This one returned to the original analogue tapes and went from there - with exquisite results. (Except on the Kinks of London double comp, which did use a digital source - and you really notice it after sitting through the rest of the box) Looking for the UK originals of these has always been an expensive proposition, especially when you get to Village Green and Arthur. If not, I'm betting you will be a fan after you hear this set. The set is very comprehensive, taking the listener from the early (lighter pop) years to the far more introspective later days. The sound is fantastic. I have listened to the set on JBL studio monitors and I don't think recordings from this era could sound much better. The glorious mono sound can't be beat.
