I bought a ten foot cable (off brand)and it took some coaxing to get it through the Alarm Dock. The turn that the cord has to make is tight and certain cables might not fit or might have to be "muscled" through. I use it for my ipod touch.Next, the areaware free app is basic but works fine. I prefer the nightstand central app (it has progressive alarm funciton), or the clock on the appbox pro.Finally, this piece could also function as something to throw at burglars...enjoy ### ⭐ Fatal Flaw *by C***S on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on March 6, 2012* Rewind and rewrite:I am using this with an iPhone 3GS.This item looks good, and could be a five star product if not for several (simple) flaws, one fatal.First, the hole for your cord is drilled in such a way that the only cord that can be used is an absolute standard one. It goes through the front, usb end first. This means no using the (perfect) cable with the plug attached. I can handle that one. Next, this dock is flat out made backwards. The phone would rest flat if the connector came from the left. As it comes from the right, your phone rests on the volume rocker, so not only does it not sit at an angle instead of flat, when you're touching it to unlock, adjust, or do anything, you turn the ringer down down down, oops off. I suppose I can live with that one too, and it would still at this point be a four-star item, even though these small fixes would make it five-star.There is no lip, edge, nor anything at all to keep your iPhone in place once it's on the dock. Meaning if you tap/touch/move the dock, the iPhone falls out at the left, unsecured end, and ends up bottom plugged in but hanging out, and the top clunks the table the dock is on. I thought at first, I could deal with this - it's not like a slight tap like that's gonna matter, right?Then the one-star incident: whether from multiple knocks, or from this knock just being the right one, one of my cats jumped on the table, which made the iPhone go the 1.5 inches to the table, and clunk, my glass was broken. So this dock cost me current price + a phone repair, and I really don't want to do that again, so it's either another dock, or use a rubber band with this one to keep the phone from flopping out.When I have to use a rubber band to keep a phone in a dock, you've made a serious, back to the drawing-board, we're really sorry our short-sightedness and inattention to detail caused you harm mistake.On the last episode of this review:This is a difficult product to review.Many complaints are some form of this: it's just a block of wood.This is true. No speaker, no cord, nothing but a block of wood, with a hole through it for your cord, and a little piece of metal as the shelf for y our phone. It also doesn't matter. I didn't want the things I already had duplicated, so I didn't want to get one of the many many other clock docks, that include a screen, an alarm, buttons, and speaker(s) that use extra electricity. My phone has all those things.If you could agree with that, you'll probably like it.But, there is also plenty of room for improvement. First, it could all be much tighter - if your nightstand gets jostled or you have crazy pets, your phone might not exactly stay on the tiny metal shelf. Said tiny metal shelf also pushes on your volume rocker button if you try to mess with the phone while it's on this dock. I'm not sure why it wasn't made in its mirror image, therefore resting on the side of the phone that does not have buttons, so also resting straight instead of slightly tilted. Every clock app I've downloaded can orient to any position of the phone. Alternatively, a thin piece of self-adhesive foamy rubbery stuff that stopped before the volume rocker would help keep the buttons from being pushed while also helping keep the phone in place. It's a little annoying it's just short of perfect, and the problems with it are obvious and easily rectified.I have found these issues to be small enough for them not to matter enough to me, and I would recommend it completely if you think these issues are small too. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very cool! *by C***S on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on August 21, 2012* I read lots of disappointed reviews by people who didnt realize that this is essentially just and iPhone charging dock - so be aware that yes, this dock is just a wood carving. Having seen it in the store and knowing what I was getting, I will say that I'm VERY happy with my purchase! This dock is definitely the most stylish way to store and organize your charger and to charge your phone that I've seen. Great product!Note: Jack Spade/Kate Spafe hard cases and other larger cases aren't compatible with this dock.
