The water rating of fabric type jackets depend on the tech of the fabrics despite DWR factor and you also have to take into factor the seams @ the joints mainly shoulders and elbow where if water pours down. That’s where it will seep in even in a light drizzle in a 30 minute setting. The rating number can be as low as 2,000 MM to up to 40,000MM and they test this in a tube and how low it takes water to penetrate the fabric. Most jackets at the price point have low water rating anywhere from 2,000 to 5,000 mm and none of them have taped or fully taped seams.
