Can this tool be used to remove pinion oil seal?

Not sure about pinion oil seals, but it did not work on wheel bearing seals. Only thing it done was cut the seal. The best thing I used for wheel bearing seal was a regular claw hammer. It worked great.

How does this compare to a flex pry bar for pulling seals?
