We have our mango butter made exclusively for us by a small company in South of Brazil. The mango kernels are bought from a Company that uses mango fruits originated from a Certified Organic Farm in Northeast of Brazil for juice making. The seeds/kernels before tossed out, now are used to make our mango butter. Even though our mango butter is not certified, it is obtained from kernels of Certified Organic Mango Fruits, and it is fully compliant with the National Organic Program. Unrefined Mango butter has a much higher content of unsaponifiable matter than the refined mango butter. It retains its natural regenerative properties making it a great ingredient to be be used either as is directly to the skin to nourish and moisturize, added to shampoos and conditioners for nourishing the hair strands, or in DIY formulations. It is a wonderful moisturizer ideal for dry skin, as well as for recovering skin damage - the high amount of non fatty acids accelerates the rebuilding injured skin tissue. Mainly used for soap-making mango butter is great when used in creams and lotions both for hair and skin. I love the soft sorta crumbly texture, the mild fresh but slightly nutty scent and how it is not as greasy/oily as some other butters. It leaves a subtle protective layer on your skin but that is exactly what I need. I now get to experiment mixing this oil with others from Brasil.I believe this vendor is reliable and knows what they are doing. Some vendors don't provide enough info or even describe their butters incorrectly.. I have seen a few that state their mango butter is "unrefined" but what you get is a white colored hard waxy butter. For unrefined, that is not what I expected.
