## Description

Donner Passive DI-Box

Review: Perfect before an audio interface that had too hot an input for DI guitars - I have the first gen Scarlet 2i2 which was notorious for having hardly any headroom on the HI-z input when recording guitars , essentially forcing you to use a DI box to get more control. Enter this device. For the price, this DI box does exactly the trick, it gives you a balanced signal into a DAW which is perfect for recording DI guitars to use with amp sims. Obviously, it won't sound as a good as a Radial JDI but for a fraction of the price this gives you a very clean signal with excellent noise rejection. To me it sounds better than the HI-z did. Bare in mind it is passive and using it with passive pickups like I am means that there is a slight roll off in the highs, but to be honest it's only very slight and actually really helps with my Telecaster that has an extremely bright bridge pickup, just takes a hair off the icepick highs. It imparts a warmer tone than the HI-z does but with plenty of clarity still. An active DI is the preferred way usually with passive pickups, but they are considerably noisier for the use of what I do. Overall very recommended and the box is a nice size. I could care less about the design on it, but does have its charm.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: will it work in both directions ? I need to go Balanced to unbalanced.**
A: I never thought of doing this. Lucky for you I had a XLR to 1/4 mono.

I got Zero output. Which makes sense I guess. Can't go in an out :)

**Q: Is this for a guitar with traditional passive pickups? I have a Fender Stratocaster with stock pick ups (not active).**
A: Dear A. Smith,Yes，it is .

**Q: how can i use this device to have a clean audio signal from a pioneer dj mixer to an iPhone for live streaming?**
A: Use an interface and a daw to adjust the sound and having a quality cable helps as well such as : Mogami cables or monster cables.

**Q: I have a noisy guitar pedal chain; will this suppress noise as the last unit before going into the guitar amplifier?**
A: This direct box does NOT have noise suppression built in. Most likely, if your signal is already noisy this direct box will also pass the buzzing/noise along to the next item in the signal path.
