Take care of it (hand wash it with soap and water and dry it right away) and it will last for a long, long time. The EZ-DUZ-IT is reliable, proven, and built to last. The Zyliss has a slightly smaller soft turn crank handle than the OXO and a locking mechanism, so she can open the can without having to hold the can opener tight to cut around the can. It has a magnet to hold onto the lid and a release handle to drop the lid into the trash can. I'm not sure whether our daughter will be able to operate all these functions.
