It is pipes and connectors but compared to others this one seems good quality. I really like that the shelves hook onto the pipes so they can’t shift. I did use the bottom shelves for my heavier clothing (hoodies, sweatpants) and tried to not overload the shelves with clothes and have the weight be too much. Still fiddling with it but I do recommend and I think for anyone who usually needs customer service when building furniture, this is your product. Just let the picture directions guide you (especially for angle of connectors). Like completely seal?** A: It fully closes but the bottom doesn’t seal, it zips up from the front bottom and would cover the whole thing but not the bottom. Or is it just a flap?** A: Sorry, I was referring to the sleeves that slide onto the rods (the clear plastics that serve as the shelves). About 4-5 of them did not fit so I had to cut them on the sides so the rods could be connected. **Q: Is there a secret to connecting each section, it's so tight that I can't complete even the first row, can't get step 5 together because tightness!!!** A: My son did mine- had very little trouble putting together- instructions not the best- he just did one layer at a time( I sorted each type of connectors first ) I don’t remember what section 5 was **Q: Im missing a couple connector pieces. I don’t want a refund (Its half built) I just want the pieces?** A: Ours had 7 missing corner pieces (part# "O") rendering, this otherwise, great closet almost practically useless. It took me about 90 minutes to assemble by myself. It came with a mallet, which was helpful. Overall materials are lightweight, but because of that may not be the sturdiest so I'm hesitant to add too much weight to it, it can fit a fair amount. I do like the cloth outer layer to cover against dust and debris, but it's a cheap material and I do wish it comes in other colors.
