It works great! The best part of this process is that after trimming the shield, it does not matter how long your wires are. Once the crimper is activated, the wires get trimmed at the outside edge of the connector. This provides a reliable and secure connection every time. **Q: Mine didn’t come in original package but instead each item was bubble wrapped and the connectors were in a zip lock. Is that normal?** A: Mine just arrived, says shipped and sold by Amazon, and came in the storage bag with each piece wrapped in bubble wrap as well. No real original packaging aside from the manual/pamphlet for the tester included in the bubble wrap with that one. **Q: How long of a cable can the tester handle** A: I know I have used it on 100' length. the tester is really easy to use. It will tell the result of the cable and not go through a test of all wires like some you need to watch. Good, miss-wire, open and short. It shows the result very quickly and accurately. Lacks one essential. *by D***Y on 20 May 2024* Like: This uses Pass-thru wires, extend thru the RJ45 connector and get cut at crimp time. Much easier than the insert and pray style connectors. Like: Connectors are good quality. Dislike: Would have liked some rubber boots thrown into the kit. Dislike Seriously! : There is no cable wire stripper. Must purchase as a separate item. How costly to the CFO's bonus would it be to throw that into the kit. It's plastic and a blade. C'mon Klein. Would I buy again? Might check out some cheaper alternatives that give more in the kit, but I was very pleased with the connections and ability to test after making it.
