Pearled farro is not a whole grain?** A: I sent a question regarding the packaging on this; I did research and it can’t be whole grain and pearled at the same time. Whole grain has more fiber than pearled. **Q: Should it be covered while cooking?** A: Hello Renee, I would cook it like oatmeal. For the creamiest texture, put grain (I grind it first) in COLD water, 2 parts water to one part grain. Stirring almost constantly over med heat until thick and some lava type bubbles appear at the surface. Cover and let set for about 10 mins. I have been making bread with ground farro. Challenging as far as texture goes but GOSH, the flavor is 5 stars. My 28 yr old VERY picky eater, loves it.......shocking!I also find that any cooked grain tastes richer the second day after refrigeration.
