They won't end up in landfills or the oceans. They save sea turtles and other animals. Who cares where they are made. Pick your battles. **Q: is it strong?** A: They will break if someone wants to. But they hold up well in a drink. My kids haven't totally ruined one to the point they need another yet. They don't fold like the grass straws I have seen recently. **Q: Are these at home compostable?** A: I've been trying a few, but don't have a definitive result yet. no reason they shouldn't be, though. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ They break instantly. *by T***U on 15 August 2026* The straws broke as soon as you start sipping the drink. I have purchased from a different provider sugarcane straws but they were more sturdy almost like plastic but sugarcane. These are literally sugarcane sticks they break as soon as you start drinking. I would not recommend. I am sorry, I am a business too but the quality was not the same as in the pictures as they looked exactly like the other sellers pictures, the reality doesnt look the same as pictures. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Straws *by M***N on 28 August 2025* As expected ### ⭐ Unusable. A pure waste of money *by 5***T on 4 September 2025* I was looking for a straw that isn't plastic or paper. Pictures and description were ideal for what I was looking for. In fact, what I received has nothing to do with what was described. The "straw" looks like hay, at the look, at the touch, but also as it is so fragile. It breaks very easily and most of them ARE already broken, hence, unusable. They may probably be environment friendly, but you can't even use them as straws. They would probably be helpful if you have rabbits. Very, very disappointing. Do not waste your money for these hay sticks. ## Frequently Bought Together - SHAUMN Biodegradable 200pcs Sugarcane Straws 8 Inch Compostable Disposable Drinking Straws Plastic Free Sturdy Smoothie Straws for Home Restaurant Parties Not Foggy - Peet's Coffee, Dark and Medium Roast Espresso Capsules Variety Pack, Compatible with Nespresso Original Machine - Intensity 8-11, 40 Count (4 Boxes of 10 Espresso Capsules) - Peet's Coffee, Dark and Medium Roast Espresso Capsules Variety Pack with Decaf, Compatible with Nespresso Original Machine - Intensity 8-11, 50 Count (5 Boxes of 10 Espresso Capsules) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.sa/products/376218381-200pcs-biodegradable-sugarcane-8-inch-compostable-straws-plastic-free-sturdy](https://www.desertcart.com.sa/products/376218381-200pcs-biodegradable-sugarcane-8-inch-compostable-straws-plastic-free-sturdy) --- *Product available on Desertcart Saudi Arabia* *Store origin: SA* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
