Review: This is a solid, functional tool designed for long term use that outshines cheaper versions - Bottom line up front, if you're considering buying an inline spark (plug) tester, I highly recommend buying the Lisle version. Sure, you'll spend a bit more on it. For me, it was a "one time use" purchase however this was my *second* purchase because I bought another much cheaper brand the was broken upon arrival. In short, I didn't save any money buying the more affordable version. This Lisle tool is as all others have said, a very solid product with a bulb you can actual find and replace. It is well made, durable and will last for many years of use I'm sure.
Review: Great item - Good quality, easy to work with, works great, bright light, like the longer boot for coil packs. Struggled with the shorter one in the beginning. I have the dreaded 5.4l 3 valve v8 F-150 and sparkplugs were just to start with....

**Q: Using this to test the coil on my vehicle. I get intermittent small reddish flash. Not sure how to interpret this? Is any light a positive sign?**
A: Use the tester in a dim lighting area and when you see the reddish-orange flash, that shows a bad spark. A healthy spark will be more intense with a blueish-white spark. I used this tester on my riding mower on June 1, 2015 and replaced the ignition module (same as a vehicle coil). The tester showed the difference before and after!

**Q: Can this be used for my 115 outboard motor?**
A: Yes Ihave used it Mine and Ihave Used it on Lawnmovers

**Q: How many items (testers are in one pack)? The price per packs is confusing.

**Q: How do you use this with a lawnmower that doesn't start? Hooking it up is simple, but then what? Pull the recoil starter rope & look at the light?**
A: Yes, if it starts the light will flash everytime the sparkplug sparks. If it does not start the light will flash everytime the sparkplug gets power and then you know it is not an electrical problem. It can then be either a bad sparkplug or a fuel problem. If it does not flash when you pull the rope then it is an electrical malfunction (ie. magneto, points, or electronic ignition problem). Always test your light to make sure it works on something else that runs.
