They also come in all sorts of colors and materials. The trick is to getting the best glove for your specific job is to look at the Ironclad website and see what gloves are recommended for specific jobs. For example, these "General Utility Gloves" are great for working on cars/trucks, doing simple yard work, handling splintered wood that you might not want to touch barehanded. They are light weight, and not super thick. This gives you some dexterity and allows you to maneuver your hands and fingers accurately. These specific gloves are NOT designed or intended to be everything in one: Not water proof/resistant- your hands will get wet, as they should. Not fire proof/resistant- your hands will get burned, as they should Not chemical resistant- your hands will be exposed Not cut/needle/thorn resistant- Your hands will get cut/poked/stabbed See where I am going with this? If you want gloves that do specific things, they look at gloves for those tasks. These gloves will absolutely get your tasks done at home or at work as long as you are reasonable and understand the limitations and intended use of these gloves.
