Review: Just as good as a Cloudlifter - I'm new to owning a dynamic mic and the one I have the ATR 2100x was way too quiet, maxing out the gain on my Scarlett raised the noise floor and made the recordings unusable. My mate came over with a Cloudlifter to troubleshoot the mic and turns out I needed a booster. I decided to give this one a try and it worked just as well, the build quality is solid and it's heavy for its size. I strongly recommend giving the Klark Teknik CT1 a try if you're picking up a dynamic mic.
Review: Capable, small in-line adaptor - This was an affordable option to boost my large diaphragm dynamic microphone that is quite hungry. My line mixer was not supplying enough gain for this microphone. I put the Klark Teknik CT-1 in Line and voilà nice hot, healthy signal. It is possible that I’m hearing a little more high frequency, however in many situations, that would be a big advantage and it actually may be that I just wasn’t hearing the signals before because there just wasn’t enough gain. For the price, I would absolutely recommend this until I’ve seen a better option.

**Q: Is this safe to use on a dynamic microphone that does not use phantom power? Does this pass-thru phantom power to the microphone?**
A: This requires phantom power to work but It does not pass phantom through. Best used with condensers that take batteries. Like the NTG2 or sennheiser mke 600

**Q: Not working with my pdmic78(much like shure sm78) + umc404hd (plugged in with +48v on). any ideas?**
A: I'd check that the pdmic78 works without the mic booster and with the phantom power off.  Unlike the 57 on which it is based, there doesn't appear to be a transformer to keep the electronics safe from phantom power.  This device -should- shunt off all the phantom power (they say it's safe for all ribbon mics which can be harmed by phantom power).  If the mic works, connect this to the mic without changing any settings then turn phantom power and slowly turn up the gain.  Make sure your mix knob is turned to the "in" side so you can confirm any audio that might be picked up.

**Q: Will this work well with the rode procaster mic and rodecaster pro?**
A: Yes, it works with the Procaster and the Rodecaster Pro which is the exact setup that I have.  Without the Klark Teknik CT-1, I set the mic Level to 45. However, after connecting directly to the back of the Procaster mic and turning on Phantom Power on the Rodecaster Pro, I now set the Level to 25. Well worth the $30 spent.

**Q: Will this be good for the Rode podmic?**
A: Perfect for it. Recommend buying “L” shape xlr adapter

Excelente reemplazo para Cloudlifter, FetHead, Dynamite o similares, a una fracción del costo. El empaque es sencillo y elegante, súper bien protegido el producto. El preamp es compacto y muy pesado para su tamaño, se siente de excelente calidad y funciona perfecto. En mi caso lo conecté directo a un Shure SM7B y de ahí a la interfaz, yo uso una GO XLR de TH Helicon. Antes de adquirir este producto tenía la ganancia en 55dB lo que producía un ligero ruido perceptible al estar todo en silencio, ahora baje la ganancia a 30dB y me escucho un poco mejor que antes pero el ruido desapareció... el sonido es mucho más claro. Su costo real es de $30 dólares (comparado con $100-$150 por opciones conocidas) por lo que está a un súper precio en Amazon por menos de $700 pesos pero probablemente subirá o se agotará.
