The remote reliably connects to the Action 2, I’ve never had to wait more than 5 or 6 seconds when initially switching both on. The remote allows you to start and stop (or take a photo) and switch between modes. That’s it, you can’t amend settings or anything - for that you need to use the camera itself. That really simplifies things though so I suspect that’s why it just works every time! The tripod is OK. It is a little plastic, but holds the Action 2 firmly, extends reasonably and can obviously be used as a freestanding selfie stick it tripod. Overall recommend - especially for the remote!

A: Ni it’s not compatible with the Pocket 2

A: I think the remote is exclusive to the action 2

Very useful remote the only problem is it’s a little bit slow to connect to the camera and if you leave it connected to the camera both the camera and the remote controls batteries drain fairly quickly.
