## Description

WHAT IS AN FMODtm ? THE FMOD IS AN ACTIVE CROSSOVER SIMULATOR. IT IS BETTER THAN A MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE ELECTRONIC CROSSOVER THAT REQUIRES POWER TO OPERATE. FMODS ARE PACKAGED IN PAIRS AND AN FMOD CAN BE COMBINED WITH OTHER TYPES OF CROSSOVERS TO CHANGE THE SLOPE (DB/OCTAVE) AND CROSSOVER FREQUENCY POINT. WHY ARE FMODS BETTER? FMODS HAVE VIRTUALLY NO NOISE OR DISTORTION FMODS DO NOT CAUSE TURN ON THUMPS FMODS ARE VERY RELIABLE

## Questions & Answers

**Q: will this eliminate low frequency buzz?**
A: "Low pass" means that all frequencies below the given frequency (70hz) will pass through. Thus, it will not not eliminate low frequency buzz, especially when LF buzz is often 60Hz. It will eliminate high buzz along with all other signals that are higher than 70Hz.

**Q: Does the male end go towards the amp or towards the subwoofer rca? (Powered sub)**
A: I don't think it really matters. If it's inline it will do the job. It was perfect when I needed it, but now that I have a proper sub, it is no longer in the system.

**Q: Are these directional ? Should i plug it into the back of my receiver or the back of my sub ?**
A: The answers on this page are correct, but I must add that the slope may not be as sharp as you might expect, so I ended up plugging two in series, which would halve the crossover point, i.e.: two 70's in series yields approx. 40 hz net result with a sharp slope. Two 100 hz units in series gives 50 hz etc. When in doubt, try all possible combinations, say trying a 100 and a 70 in series, use what works best. Good luck.

**Q: Can some one please advise me on which one to purchase a 50hz or 70hz? i am receiving slight vocals through my powered sub woofer**
A: human males get as low as 80Hz....... So the 50Hz would produce the required filtering since there will be some variation around the target frequency both filters.
