Great product, very effective and efficient. Had a single trap and liked it so much I brought two more.

These work great except... the wifi feature. The app they have has good intentions to make it easy but well it just fails and flashes 10 times... I am in IT for work. I MUST SAY IT KILLS MICE WELL. Just the wifi feature needs work...

UPDATE 9/2025 I have used a case of C cell batteries and have not caught one rat. I even saw a rat scurrying past the trap with no interest at all. Original post 9/2024 I purchased one of these electronic traps a while back and it worked flawlessly so I bought two more in September. These I guess had been "improved" and the four "C" cell batteries lasted about 8 days and had to be replaced. "C" cell batteries are very expensive and I have to replace eight batteries for the two traps at a time. My older unit kept the batteries for months before needing to be replaced. I'm past the return time so I will have to eat the $90+ for the traps but I can warn future purchasers of what to expect when you have to replace these batteries every week. Plus I haven't caught one rat in the new traps. I would never have bought them had I known what the battery usage is. it's like purchasing a GEO metro expecting 50 mpg and finding that you are only getting 6 MPG.

Caught a mouse, but no notification. Had work out how to manually allow notifications for the app. (The app did not check). One unit has gone flat within the first week... $11 in batteries gone. After week 2, the second unit has now failed. Lost wifi in a strong wifi area. Battery now reports 54%, but who really knows? It was 95% a day ago! I think it drains and the battery percentage is inaccurate. No kills since the last day hugh loss in battery. So far its cost me $150 (inc battery cost) to catch two tiny mice! The app is slow and clunky. Sending them back now. Total waste of time and money.

The whole idea of an internet connected mouse trap seems kind of ridiculous. Is this an Onion parody turned into a real product? But I got a couple of these anyhow to put down in the garage to prevent a repeat of last winter’s “rodent invasion apocalypse” which cost a LOT of money to fix. They work and it turns out to be amazingly handy to get the alert to remind me to go on down and empty out the trap. I haven’t used them long enough to have a good idea of battery life but they are still over 75% after 3 weeks and 4 rodents zapped. Update - battery life has been fine - multiple months. One did lose connection and need to be completely reset. False trigger notices mean they need cleaning. So, I bought 2 more. The new ones, WR190808GVXXXXX and WR190811GVXXXXX (both on FW 1.3.3) were a royal pain to set up. Setup on an iPhone X running iOS 13.3.1 failed repeatedly. Connection to the trap’s own WiFi network failed multiple times. After successfully connecting to the trap’s WiFi network, set up failed with “there has been a network error” when attempting to retrieve the available WiFi networks so that I could select my home network. This failed 100% of the time on both units after multiple attempts. I was within 10 feet of the WiFi access point and I tried all the usual things - restarting the app, power cycling the traps and my phone. The older traps had been no problem to set up on the same phone a year ago (with an older version of iOS). I *was* able to complete setup of the 2 new traps after only a few retries using an iPhone SE running iOS 13.3. This suggests that there might be an incompatibility with the Victor app and the most recent iOS release. I reported it to Victor, so with luck a fix is coming.
