It feel glorious to hold and the weight makes it good to chop or cut. It came with a sharpened edge that worked without any extra work from me. The grip feels very durable and the pommel/crossguard look beautiful. The sheath keeps the sword snug and is fashioned in a way that the edge doesn't touch the sides unless you intentionally sheath your sword wrong. If you are in the market for a conversation starter of a short sword, this is a great value for what the money. Is it a true cinquedea meaning 'Five Fingers' wide at the base of the blade. I what is the overall length** A: It is not quite five fingers, but, then again, I might have big hands. It is a true cinquedea in the fact that the blade is about 14" long and roughly 5" wide at the cross. Good heft, good balance, the handle is quite nice with the crosshatching and small metal buttons in the wood. You know if you get stabbed with this it is going to take a team of Surgeons to save your life, kind of the medieval equivalent of a 12 gauge shotgun. I've been looking at this one for two years now. Amazon dropped the price down to less than $120 from the normal $150 + from other online sources. It was a case of " I need it, I want it and I've got to have it!!
