I AGREE WITH YOU! SUCH A DOWNGRADED QUALITY ABOUT THE "NEW" KINDLE LEATHER CASES...I ALSO MISS THE SILVER EMBOSSED CLOSURE THE OLDER ONES HAD. THESE EVEN COST MORE...NOT WORTH IT AT ALL!

Please explain how you can call this plastic cover "natural leather" when it is clearly neither. How is this allowed to be marketed as leather?

From someone who works with and has sold leather, this does not remotely smell like leather. At least not mine. It is possible that this might be the thinnest of bonded leathers, but if so, I would say the plastic edging is worth more than the grained cover. This should never have been marketed as leather!

Does the 11th gen paperwhite signature edition come with the charging dock?

No it does not. I comes with cord but not a box or charging dock. That is a separate item.

Can this be engraved?

The question is:  Can the Kindle Paperwhite Leather Cover (11th Generation-2021} be engraved.  The cover is leather, but it really doesn't feel like it is.  It really looks and feels to me more like plastic than like a good thick leather that would withstand engraving.  I would hesitate to attempt having it engraved, however if you look at the outside of the front cover, in the lower right corner you will see the word "Kindle".  It appears to be heat pressed into the leather and because there is no color distinguishing color of the pressing and the color of the cover it is difficult to see.  My suggestion would be "don't engrave" but perhaps you could buy a small metal plate and have that engraved and attached (just above the word "Kindle).  You want to be very careful - perhaps check with a jeweler.
