Many of them don't do a great job of explaining critical technical details, such as, in this case, the diameter of the clamp.I think because, in many cases the vendors don't have the time to dig through each of the thousands of parts that they sell.And so they don't necessarily write identically worded titles and descriptions for the part that they are selling that is actually one of a family of identical parts except that they have a dimension difference. This is very common problem with many bike parts.It truth, this part comes in two sizes "Standard" and "Oversize"The "Standard" clamp fits 22-29 MM tubing.The "Oversize" clamp fits 27-35 MM tubing.It was on this particular accessory that I learned that lesson.What I do, is read each and every presentation of any cycling accessory and glean from them ultimately the manufacturer specifications. In some cases I will do a google search on the manufacturer, in thais case Minoura, from Japan. Then I will put together a search on Amazon based on the specific details of the part I need.Then it usually comes up.In your case, try a variety of similarly worded searches, and you will find one display of the product on Amazon that will have a pull down panel with "standard" and "oversize" as choices, so you can select the one you need. **Q: Is the bar part metal or plastic?** A: Metal.. Is all metal with plastic end caps. **Q: Would this mount on the stem, under the top cap or under the stem like a headset spacer?** A: Look at the Minoura CS-500 model this company offers - it's specifically made to mount the way you describe. But theoretically, you can use this if you're crafty enough (you'll need 1/4-1/2" of space on the stem and maybe a shim). **Q: I have a Profile Design H2O OS Stem which is oval shaped. Will the LW Clamp mount to it, or is it only suitable for round, non aero bars and tubes?** A: I would say it will only work on round tubes. An oval tube would require shims, but there might not be enough working room inside the clamping arms to apply shims---it depends on the "diameter" of the oval tube. The curved clamping arms are made of thick aluminum, so bending them to fit an oval shape would be very diffcult and might break them. The only other solution is to file the oval stem into a round shape, which might be "sacreligious." The bars work really well but don't have a lot of space for installing accessories. I used this nice accessory mount to give me the extra room needed for a cyclometer and a headlight. I included a picture of my bike, you can easily see the headlight well above the handlebars and it's being held in place by this Minoura accessory holder. Harder to see is the cyclometer but it's there, too.I was concerned that the clamp wouldn't hold on tight but with a little rubber shim that I made by cutting up a tube the adjustability of the clamp was sufficient to hold it rock-solid. It's usually a good idea to shim anything you mount to your bike as that will protect the finish of your bike's surface and give your clamps something to bite into which will keep them in place more securely.The cylinder onto which accessories are mounted can be rotated so that the mount can be used on vertical or horizontal bars. Or even bars which are at an angle thanks to the rotation possible on one of the joints. The mounting cylinder can be slid back and forth a bit so that you can create two equal-sized mounting surfaces or one very large surface and another much smaller if that's useful for the accessories you wish to use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Minoura is a trusted company. Yet I was trying to find some way of adding a mounting bar in that compact area.Saw another trusted Minoura product. Ordered this for a specific task. Wanted to mount to a Rover Post down low, under and behind a Bafang headlamp (only comes on at dusk/night). Wanted to add another headlamp to run a day-time running strobe for getting the attention of traffic.While the initial installation location would have required a shorter arm, had raised the arm up over the Bafang headlamp. This gave me ample room to mount a headlamp over the electrical motor.Minoura's mounting bar slides back and forth rather easily, and I was able to fine tune its placement so as the left crank arm and my shoe would not interfere with the location of the headlamp.Success! Ample room from the shoe and cranks, while still allowing the ability to mount a headlamp. Well worth the price of this Minoura mount to fit in a compact and cramped area without affecting other devices being utilized there.Have Minoura camera mounts on both of the Versa Bars on my recumbent trike. Use a GoPro camera on the left, and use 360° cameras on the right.Have always trusted Minoura. Recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good option with some annoyance on installation *by on Reviewed in the United States June 27, 2016* It does what it supposed to do - attach to the stem or handlebar and add some real estate to the handlebar. Annoyance is that, the clamp is pulled by a m5 screw and barrel to tighten, and the threading the screw to barrel can be quite frustrating as there is no guide to catch the barrel with the screw. Also, the clamp's half is rather thin and doesn't hold quite tight.
