I got the Large for my 7 year old nonverbal ASD daughter who is in the 95 percentile on the growth chart in hight and weight. In clothing size, she wears an XL or girls size 14. She definitely still has room to grow with this vest but serves its purpose! I have started out with compression only as recommended and will later add the weights as she gets used to wearing it or seems to be seeking more sensory input. Your OT would be the one to ask if this type of vest would benefit your child.Secondly, if you’ve been struggling with therapy sessions like us: aggressive behaviors, inattentive, crying, eloping. This might be worth a try! Since our girl started wearing this during therapy, we have seen her attention to an activity go from maybe a few minutes to 20 min! The deep pressure this vest offers may be what she was seeking and needed this to help her focus.It may not be the most fashionable, but I haven’t seen anything else that offers both compression and weight.
