Stonewall Kitchen Major Grey's Chutney, 8.5 Ounces

This is terrific - just the right amount of spices with thin slices of mango.

Delicious but expensive for such a small jar. I make my own now & freeze it until needed. It took me four tries to figure out a similar tasting recipe. Goes great with chicken. It's basically a Mango & Apple chutney.

This is a good recipe. Tasty. I like the texture.

Not Blackwell and cross thick sticky kind of chutney. This is soft and a little runny. It's ok but not really what I was looking for. Flavor is nice and can cover adequately. I don't get the urge to add raisins, nuts. Herbs, fruits and veggies.

Wow. I usually don't care for spicy foods. This was incredible l, a bit spicy but so well balanced with sweet and savory that it was an instant hit with m e. I've never been so surprised. I love this and immediately ordered again as gifts for family.

I was searching for a Major Grey chutney in place of the now unavailable Cross&Blackwell mango chutney. This aint it. Not remotely the same flavors. It is not mango based and has apples and a distinct curry seasoning. It’s chutney but I don’t see how it can be labeled as Major Grey’s. It was an expensive try and fail. It arrived packaged well and has a good texture and overall consistency. It’s edible and some may like it but not what I was looking for.

For some reason, I’ve never thought of myself as a chutney person. But I purchased Curry Chicken Salad from a local specialty grocery store and, while it was good, I believed I could do better. I found the Ina Garten recipe for Curry Chicken Salad and if Ina says I need it, I buy it. BTW….I HIGHLY recommend the Ina recipe. And, she says you need this brand of Major Grey’s Chutney. Ina knows!! The chutney is great! The recipe is great!
