Primero, la edición está hermosa, la verdad. Y segundo, es género fantasía, pero eso no significa que no tenga filosofía, caracteres muy profundos, historia y una poesía fantástica! Muy buen libro! Quieres leer más lento para que no se acaba tan pronto.

Anche questa volta la Hobb mi delizia con la sua meravigliosa caratterizzazione dei personaggi e la sua straordinaria capacità di descrivere un mondo e una vicenda di sconfinata immaginazione, che vanno a inserirsi in un mosaico praticamente perfetto di una saga lunga e originalissima. Devo tuttavia ammettere che le ultime 200 pagine avrebbero potuto essere asciugate in una cinquantina. E' come se l'autrice non volesse lasciar andare la storia, continuando a riprenderla aggiungendo particolari piuttosto ripetitivi, naturalmente facendolo con la sua solita bravura. Alla fine del libro, per la prima volta leggendo un'opera della Hobb, mi son detta, "Alleluia!". Non era comunque facile scrivere un libro in cui le tessere del mosaico e i misteri legati ai serpenti e alle navi venissero svelati in modo da non chiudere una vicenda ma aprirne altre. In questo secondo libro i nostri personaggi crescono e cominciano a dimostrare chi sono davvero. Dall'orgogliosa Althea al "gigantesco" Kennit, mi sono piaciuti tutti, chi più, naturalmente, e chi meno. Mi conforta sapere che ho ancor molti libri della Hobb da leggere.
