Anyone has this same problem.?** A: Yeah I had the same problem but I decided I liked the lanterns and decided to try replacing the batteries. I used 2000mAh CR123A batteries which are slightly larger but last waaaaay longer. Only downside is that the crank no longer works but that wasn't an issue for me and the light lasts for quite some time now. For folks having issues replacing the power cable it isn't unique. It's a standard USB 5v 5.5mm DC cable - Amazon sells a 3 pack for under $8. **Q: Will this charge my I phone?** A: I dunno about iPhone, but I recently tested the hand crank to try and charge my Samsung Galaxy S9, and confirmed it DOES charge it. NOT MUCH though. I hooked up the cable between the two devices, made sure the phone's screen was off, then cranked for about a minute at what I would consider moderate-to-fast speed, and before/after cranking it went up from 22% to 24% charge. I'm not fit, so I was pretty tired, dunno how long I could have kept that up, but was good to know that in a REAL EMERGENCY, it would be POSSIBLE (though difficult) to charge my phone with this hand crank. It comes as a compact disc shape that concertinas out to become a full light. It is certainly bright enough to read by or find your way through a campsite at night. It has a hand winder to recharge it and also comes with a USB connector to charge off the mains when the power is on. You pop up the lantern part and it really puts out light. In a pitch dark 10x10 room it lights it up bright enough to see every corner. The brightness is very impressive. It has two levels, low and high. Honestly, the low level is pretty bright so I would save battery most times and use low.If you do not extend the lantern this is also a flashlight. It is bright but does not direct light pointedly, so would not make a great flashlight for distance. However, even without the lantern extended, the light is pretty bright. I put the light higher up on something so it reflects like back off the ceiling.It can be charged with USB plug or crank. I have only used the USB at this point and it charged pretty quickly. So far I have used that charge for about 3 hours and it is still nice and bright. I will update review after using for a few months.Overall, so far, very impressed. Enough so that I bought a second one for the boat (first one was for camping). I may pick up a couple more. And, I also want to try the crank once the light loses the first couple charges (want to cycle through a few charges first before doing the crank test).UPDATE: I have now used this light several times and it is simply amazing. I lights up a space the size of a tent perfectly AND lasts all night. I have recharged it and it is working wonderfully. I may pick up a couple more of these. They are super nice and perfect for what we need them for. I think they would also serve well in a power outage, if you happen to experience them in your area. The little handle lets you hang this wherever you need.
