Excellent Potting Mix for Thriving House Plants
I recently purchased this Orchid Mix and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. After spending a considerable amount of time searching for similar mixtures for my house plants, I was thrilled to find this product. I even contemplated making my own potting mix, but the cost-effectiveness didn't seem viable for what I was looking for. Upon receiving, I immediately repotted many of my Hoya plants using this mix, along with a dash of Fox Farms Ocean. The results have been nothing short of amazing. My plants are thriving like never before, showing significant growth and overall improved health. One of the standout qualities of this potting mix is its chunky texture. As someone who tends to be an "overwaterer," I appreciate that this mix dries out much faster compared to other mixes. This not only helps prevent overwatering but also allows for better drainage, reducing the risk of root rot. While this mix works wonders for most plants, I would recommend using something with smaller pieces for plants with very small or fragile roots. However, for the majority of house plants, this mix provides the perfect balance of moisture retention and aeration. Another advantage of this product is its long-lasting nature. I had some leftover mix, which I poured into a bin and sealed with a lid. Even after a considerable amount of time, the mix remains in excellent condition, ready to be used when needed. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this potting mix. It has proven to be a game-changer for my house plants, promoting their growth and overall well-being. If you're looking for a high-quality potting mix that delivers exceptional results, look no further. I will certainly be ordering more of this mix when the need arises.

Excellent for monstera; no need to make your own blend if you have this
Had 2 big monstera I was putting together in a very large pot, supported with a double pronged tree branch. Originally I planned to buy all components separately (perlite, coconut husk chunks, orchid bark, etc) but then I would have needed to buy a huge container to mix it all and then store excess and just no, that just seemed silly when I could buy exactly the amount I need that was already blended. I don't need excess. So I got 4 bags of this and mixed it with the remainder of a bag of Fox Farm ocean floor I had left over (equivalent in volume to about 1 bag of this orchid mix and because why not just go ahead and use it, right?) and it was the perfect amount to fill around the spaces not dominated by monstera roots and that tree branch into the big pot I was using. The orchid mix itself was a really nice surprise as it not only is a super chunky blend that allows for lots of oxygen flow to roots and quick drainage, but there's nothing even remotely similar available to me locally with all these nice soil additives. Fingers crossed the monsteras approve but so far, I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

Orchids? is what you want!!
I have completely changed my mind about this product. I am...still am 'an orchid beginner'. My point of reference was a bag of 'BetterGro Special Orchid mix.' By comparison, first off the BetterGro image on the front does not represent what you will find in the bag. I believe it has its place for giant orchids as the fir chunks are generally three times bigger than the picture on the bag. And the ratio of other bits is not representative either....in a lacking way. I bought it out of ignorance when I got my first Phal and it did work out, but it took a lot of 'cherry picking' pieces to get it right. Most of the fir chunks are large enough to be used as garden mulch. Ridiculous. I went looking for alternatives, and 'CZ Gardening Orchid potting mix', was repeatedly recommended. At first I was put off when I opened the bag. It seemed somewhat decomposed. I thought I had made another mistake. But several weeks later when I got around to repotting a couple orchids I was pleasantly surprised. The pieces are sized properly and uniform. There is a decent ratio of different bits and ammendments. Yes. There is some decomposition, but nowhere close to what I imagined. I repotted two orchids and after using up the bag I had less than a 1/4 cup that i thought was too fine. Very happy with that result. It absorbs water very well and drains nicely. No complaints. I have a couple more new orchids and have purchased another bag. This is good stuff!!

Not bad
I bought this to use as an additive to my standard houseplant blend. I was hoping for a bit more of a mix of ingredients but it was mostly bark and the pieces are pretty big. Would probably be great if using as is for an orchid though.

Good mix for orchids
Good mix, airy, great for orchids. It contains enough of "chunky" material such as leca balls, smaller bark chunks, etc, to provide air space for the roots.

Thriving Plants
I purchased a Plumeria stock that I started in a med size pot. At the end of summer I noticed that it was time to pot in a bigger pot. Then I found out that it's in the Orchid family which is why I purchased this. Now it's really thriving. The leaves have gotten huge & can't wait for it to mature & start flowering.

My indoor orchids love this mix!
I've always used mainly orchid bark but I wanted to try a mix of perlite etc. On my first purchase, a 2-lb bag filled up three, 6 inches (diameter or top part of the pot) X 5 inches (Height of pot), X 4.2 inches (bottom part of pot) plastic pots. The following week, I ordered a second bag. And then a few days ago, I purchased 2 more bags. Why? Not only did I decided to changed all 7 to the same orchid medium, the first ones I repotted are thriving. And I like the fresh, organic smell it emits. They are all loving this mix! The 2 bags came in a Prime box. No tears on the packaging. There are no gnats, ants, molds and no bad smell. I guarantee you, it's just fresh organic medium. A GLOWING REVIEW to the seller and the company. They definitely stand by their product. UPDATE: Uh oh. A friend just gifted me 20 outdoor orchids (See photo ). I'll be honest. Repotting is not my favorite part of orchid care, but I'll do it in a heartbeat, but for 20? Yikes. Challenge much? 🥴😆
