Review: The Olympus OMD EM1 Mkiii is a an enthusiast/pro camera body. There is no "Auto" mode! This camera offers both the advantages of the micro 4/3 system (smaller lenses and weather sealing on Pro lens). As such, it is an excellent system for hiking and travel. The Mkiii added a dedicated joy stick, starry skys autofocus, 80 mp handheld option and built in nd capability. All four were welcome additions to the camera. The downsides of the camera is the sensor which is at least 4 years old, low light capability and more limited depth of field. Although I would love a bump in sensor resolution, it is not a deal breaker. The low light limitations can be mitigated by the fast pro lens and excellent third party noise reduction software. The depth of field can also be dealt with in camera with focus stacking. I would still recommend this body even though Olympus has sold its imaging business. The completeness of the micro 4/3 system perfectly fits our needs. Highly recommended.

**Q: How does the evf compare with the mark ii? my understanding is that the mark iii has an oled evf, which should be an improvement on the mark ii's lcd.**
A: I purchased the E-M51 Mark III thinking that the lack of an OLED viewfinder wouldn't bother me.  It does.  I originally bought Olympus' argument that the LCD on the E-M1 Mk. III was a necessary evil and good enough.  Which was kind of true...until I bought my backup E-M5 Mark III, which has an OLED viewfinder.  It's night and day.  The OLED viewfinder is quantum leaps better.  They should have never produced the E-M1 Mark III without the OLED viewfinder -- it's like finding a 4-cylinder engine in your Ferrari.  Hopefully Olympus will fix this blunder soon.  AND lower the price if they expect Micro Four Thirds to survive in the current camera market.

**Q: Will older Olympus lenses (OM-1) work with this camera?**
A: Yes, With the correct adapter (OM to Micro 4/3), you are able to utilize the older lenses. That is one of the benefits of mirrorless. Here is a PRO Tip: When using the older lenses, set one of your function buttons on the camera body to focus peaking. This will allow for a nice focus confirmation when using the older non AF lenses!

**Q: Can you see through the electronic viewfinder in bright sunlight?**
