Hi, no you can simply twist the two pcs of wood and it will loosen so you can replace the blade. There is absolutely no tools required and it is very easy to do.

The bread lame is made from rose wood. The blades are stainless steel and the case is made from felt.
Why would I use this as opposed to the traditional stick bread lames?
Hi, the benefits are it fits nicely in your hand so it is easier to make precise nice patterns in the bread. Also the blade can be stored inside the lame so it doesn't have to stick out when you are finished. Also it looks very beautiful!

What do you say? It's a little wood thingy that holds a razor blade. Wife is happy with it and she likes the way it performs compared to another she has so 5 stars so I don't hear her bitch anymore that her scores on her bread aren't coming out right.🤣

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hard to tighten without an Allen wrench

Cute and I love the control you get with this style. However they should include an Allen wrench as I had a hard time getting it right enough by hand - the blade kept slipping when I tried to use it. And I was afraid to apply too much pressure to the tiny pieces and have a finger slip into the blade and cut myself. A wrench would be safer and easier.
