It has pictures of every single training exercise, step by step descriptions on how to do the exercise, AND a variation alternative way to do the exercise as well as tips and dos and don'ts . It has a section for picking a proper work out for YOU. Do you want to build muscle, maintain it or lean out? THEN, it lists different programs for your goals and what exercises to do, and how many reps etc. Once you pick your workout...look at the top of the page and it has each recommended exercise referenced by it's page number!! This book thought of everything! I am not one for a bunch of chapters on the science of it all or listing out 25 meal plans...this book gets straight to the point. The first 30 pages contains information and tips on training basics and I read every page because it is precise and to the dang point! I love this book! It is a sturdy (important as this will become my muscle building go to reference book) jam packed book with all of the information I need to get where I want to go. And if you are wondering, I am female and use to train for novice competitions back in my college days. This book contains many, many weight training moves I would have never thought of to do from my own home gym.
