Sauder Harbor View Home Office Computer Desk with Hutch, Keyboard Tray, in Curado Cherry finish

This unit was packaged correctly, they tried to protect it against shipping damages by extra strong cardboard edge pieces. A great idea, as it arrived undamaged. I was totally impressed with the instructions, and ease of identifying each piece. They made it so easy to identify by either numbering, or lettering, plus showing the true life size or each screw, or other small piece. They packaged each small part in a soft plastic sheet, with a compartment, for each part, with the part number, and quantity plainly printed next to the part. A page in the instructions also showed the part in actual size, and quantity. This made the assembly process easier than any other DIY task I have ever put together. I'm 82, and have put together many items. Because of my age, and size, 6'2", 250lbs. I am not very flexible anymore, so it took me about 7 hours, over 2 days, to complete the job. I think a young person, could take several hours off the assembly time. I only needed a couple different length screwdrivers, and a hammer, and because I'm old, a small flashlight, that was it. I was continually amazed that everything fit. All holes, or slots, lined up just perfectly. They did a great job engineering and producing this unit. I found no problem following the instructions. The fact that everything made sense, and fit perfectly, kept me amazed the whole time I was putting it together. Keep in mind, with all these types of furniture, it is being made from pressed, or particle board, and the finish they put on it is very thin, so be careful how you handle the pieces. I did scratch mine, my fault, luckily it was in a place that doesn't show. At first I thought this was a bit expensive, for an item I had to assemble, but after finishing, I have a luxurious looking, beautiful, useful piece of furniture, well worth the price. I'm still amazed at the thought they put into giving the right instructions. I am so satisfied. My hats off to them, great job.

I debated quite some time before ordering this desk. I was hesitant about shipping such a large project, but I decided to order one. When my tracking number said it was to arrive, there was only 1 box on the porch (Carton 2 of 2). When I looked up the tracking number, it merely said my order was delivered. To my surprise the other box was delivered the next day. However the box was tore and taped up. After unboxing and taking an inventory, several pieces were damaged and all the hardware was missing. With one call to Sauder Customer Support the hardware pack and replacement parts were on the way; No Hassle. The desk took awhile to assemble; I think I took 4 days spending a couple hours each day. Assembly is straight forward but I would try rushing it. The instruction booklet is very well done with pictures that are easy to follow. Some steps you will need another set of hands. All the pieces are quality made and the finished desk is beautiful and heavy. I suggest buying a pack of sliders to permanently place under it (just in case you need to move it). Everyone that has seen it loves it. I would buy it again.

We first saw this desk at a local furniture store, when we compared the price to Amazon it was 140 less here so we ordered it. It arrived in 2 heavy boxes. The assembly took a few hours and was pretty straightforward, instructions were ok. Good enough but not great. Parts pack was clearly labeled and had an extra of about 1/3 of the items. Looks great on the room but was nicked easily when putting together so the long term durability is in question. The finish is more applied and thing so care is needed. For the cost however it is great looking for the price

This is a beautiful and very sturdy desk that is just what I wanted. The color (I got salt oak) is also true to the photos. It is perfect for my daughter to use for her schoolwork. Love the many hutch compartments and the pull out portion for the keyboard. Overall, the instructions were very detailed and easy to follow, including both written directions and pictures that made it clear which way to orient the pieces. Just wanted to give some pieces of advice that may help others when putting this together. 1. The desk arrives in 2 boxes. (We only received one at first and had to contact Amazon to resend the second one.) 2. It took my husband and I about 7 hours (with a few short breaks) to assemble the whole desk. 3. The desk is put together upside down/sideways and then needs to be flipped, so you really need a lot of space to work. 4. We had a little trouble getting the drawers to sit properly because they fit too high in the desk. We ended up unscrewing and re-doing the rails to fix this, but then 2 pages later in the manual it explained an easier fix for this involving the cam screws. It would have been more helpful if this explanation had been provided on the same page where drawer installation was discussed. Overall a great desk and you won't regret this purchase!

Purchased this desk from Amazon rather than direct from Sauder due to the Amazon customer service in case a return was needed. It was delivered when promised and came in 2 very heavy boxes. The 2 Amazon delivery guys put the boxes in my garage for me so I could unpack it there and then carry the pieces into the house at my leisure. Both boxes were packed very well to prevent damage. There were corner boards on all the edges and then the boxes were each wrapped in heavy plastic. Upon opening and unboxing, I didn't find any damage at all. It was in perfect condition. After bringing in all of the pieces and laying them out, following the directions was pretty easy. All hardware was in it's own section on a large plastic sheet and was clearly marked. As alway, make sure you read the page you are on and even the next page before each step. It was basically a one person job but I did get some help when it came time to attach the hutch to the desktop. By that time the unit was getting heavy. I also needed the help to lay the desk on it's front in order to nail in the cardboard backing. Once everything was put together, it all lined up near perfectly, including the drawers and cabinet door. There are adjustments that can be made to help line everything up but I didn't need to use them. The finished product looks a lot nicer than in the picture. It is big but not overbearing to look at. We liked this so much we also ordered the matching lateral file to use as a TV stand. We have been buying Sauder furniture since the 80s due to the quality, style and value. This is probably the best piece we ever purchased from Sauder (via Amazon).

I am so thrilled with this desk. I looked all over and decided from the reviews to go with Sauders. This particular desk was not that expensive so I wasn’t expecting the quality to be what it is. It absolutely looks like real wood and is so sturdy and well made. The instructions were spot on! No problem at all with assembling and every piece was there and clearly marked. I love that it is mostly made in the USA. We could definitely tell by the very clear directions. There was even a few funny things thrown in to keep the desk assembly upbeat! It was a process to put together but my husband and I actually enjoyed our time putting together this beautiful piece of furniture! If you are looking for a high quality desk with lots of storage room for a great price I definitely recommend this piece!!

This desk-hutch is beautiful! Nice and room making organization possible. I am really happy with this purchase. Assembly is hard to rate because it is somewhat complicated. The directions are written with fun notes on the side encouraging time to take breaks, grab a snack or drink - encouraging "pace yourself and don't over do it. I didn't! It took me a long time to assemble (one day) but I chose to not rush but work steadily on this desk. Carefully, read through the instructions. Though I did this, if I assembled again, I would follow exactly the instructions given except for when to put the back panel on. I could be wrong about this theory but I would put the backing on the hutch first, then proceed to assemble the lower portion. I threw out packaging before assembling. Still, my theory to put the backing first on the hutch, makes the assembly easier. Other slight problems, keyboard drawer doesn't slide in smoothly without hitting into the second screw on the left side of the rails because it sticks out enough that the drawer doesn't slide in completely but protrudes into the track causing the keyboard holder to stand out about 3-inches. My hands hurt from tightening so many screws because of the elbow grease you put into really tightening the screws. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend any buyer.

7/19/2025 - Two of us assembled this computer desk and hutch in 8.5 hours over three days. The most difficult part was unpacking the two boxes in which the unit came. The directions are clear and easy to follow. Step 29 was the most difficult step because the unitis 61% complete at this point and it has to be placed on the floor on its side. The unit is as functional as it lok with plenty of space for my Dell Inspiron 560 desktop computer in the space next to the drawers which is dedicated for a desktop. The unit has round cutouts through which computer/printer cables can be routed. After assembly, the unit emitted the odor of wood for a couple of weeks. The unit is solid, not flimsy at all. My only gripe is that the keyboard shelf brackets could should have be sturdier. But, at $454, one really cannot complain. The utility of this desk-hutch is awesome, and the desk is a steal at twice the price.

I am very pleased with my purchase. It was delivered promptly and was fairly easy to assemble. The only issue I thought I had...the tracking on the file cabinet, I thought was missing. But it turned out to be my mistake as it was pointed out to me that it was tucked inside the tracking device. But the cymax Company itself got back to me very promptly and informed me to check to see if it was there tucked inside and it was there. So I have no issues with my purchase whatsoever. I won't hesitate to purchase anything from that company again.

The desk size and construction is great for the price. Only complaint is that I was expecting more Cherry in the colour and desk could have been clear coated much better.

Arrived very quickly and the desk is high quality. It does require 2 people to put together and it took us about 4 hours. You need space to spread out and you will need to flip the desk onto its back. It was very well packaged in the boxed (2 large heavy boxes). The pieces were labelled well for the most part. Some pieces have the numbering or lettering marked on them using black marker in spots that won't be seen, while some others have no labelling but you can figure out what parts they are by comparing the image to the instructions. The instructions were 36 pages long. The colour of the desk is beautiful and the finish is very smooth. Only tools needed hammer and a phillips (star) screwdriver.

This desk is good quality. Like the color and design. Happy with purchase.
