We got this low loft bed for our 6 and 4 year olds. Originally, they wanted a bunk bed, but I wasn’t comfortable with how high the top bunk usually is, especially since my oldest is an active sleeper and also the type to jump off everything. This low loft gives them the feel of bunk beds without that same risk. I also specifically wanted enough clearance underneath so my 4 year old wouldn’t feel like he was crawling into a submarine bunk. We’re using a twin mattress on the floor underneath (since this is technically a loft, not a bunk) and it works perfectly. For reference, the bottom mattress is 10.5" thick and still has about 27.5" of headroom before the top bars. The top mattress is 7" thick and leaves about 3" of railing, which felt a little low for us so we added an old toddler bed rail for an extra ~4" of safety while our oldest adjusts. We chose a metal frame after seeing too many reviews of wooden beds that cracked during assembly, and I’m glad we did. It feels sturdy enough for their ages, and the price point made it an easy choice since we will eventually separate them into their own beds and repurpose the space below into a storage or play area. My husband was able to easily assemble this himself and he used screw lock so we won’t have to keep retightening anything. No squeaking so far. It does have a slight wobble, but nothing concerning -- we don’t feel like it’s unstable or at risk of tipping. A couple things to note: - The ladder can only be installed in one position, so plan your room layout carefully. In our case, my son has to climb in from the head of the bed instead of the foot. - I saw reviews mentioning the ladder rungs hurting feet. My son says they’re fine, but as an adult, I agree they’re painful. We considered adding pool noodles, but they spun around and didn’t feel safe for a kid still learning to climb. - We did add a pool noodle to the bar above the lower bed to prevent head bumps when getting up at night and I definitely recommend that! - I’m 5’4” and can easily lean in to say goodnight without climbing. We might be adding something under the bottom mattress (like a thin piece of plywood) to lift it off the floor a bit, but it’s not strictly necessary. Overall, this has been a great, budget-friendly option that feels much safer as far as height goes than a traditional bunk bed while still giving the kids the fun they wanted. I also want to just add that my boys sleep very hot and don't like blankets, since in the photo the beds look incomplete. I strive to give honest, unbiased and helpful reviews -- I hope this information was useful!

Wow I am so blown away by the quality of this loft bed!! I think it is so well built. I have had other bed frames that have metal slats but they would just be poles that have nothing to prevent them from moving but this bed frame has locks on the slats that keep them in place! The bed frame does move slightly if your kid is jumping on it but that’s to be expected. I bought two bed frames and putting the first one together took me a while because putting the locks on the slats really hurt my fingers but everything aligned perfectly. Only thing I will say is that the instructions were okay I wish they were a bit better. The bed frame fits a twin mattress perfectly and the rails are a good height. I love the way the bed looks and my kids love the space underneath. I think the ladder hurts my feet but my kids have no issues climbing up. Overall I would recommend this bed for your kiddos if you have limited space in your house and low ceilings. 10/10 can’t wait to decorate under the beds.

Great low loft bed for my 3 year old. Took about an hour to put together, very sturdy if you follow the weight restrictions. I do not sleep on the bed with him, but do climb up there to make the bed or change the sheets. We ended up purchasing a three step step-stool for him to get into the bed instead of using the ladder. He could use the ladder but I felt more comfortable with the step-stool. However, if you have a more coordinated toddler the ladder may work great for you! The height is perfect for him to play under it but still low enough that it's age appropriate. Overall, I would definitely recommend it and would purchase again.

So I love this loft bed it was fairly simple to assemble. You really need to just follow the directions and make sure not to tighten any of the bolts until the very end. All pieces were clean none were bent no pieces missing - you always want to make sure all parts are accounted for before you even start to put any type of furniture together. The only bad thing about this was I ordered a black frame and received a gray frame - still looks great thought it didn’t deter me because the shipping was incredible.. I ordered this about a 16 days before Christmas - I was sad because I figured it wouldn’t get here on time especially when I kept checking and it hadn’t even processed/shipped yet I figured I wouldn’t get it until after New Years at that point but lo & behold it shipped out on Sunday 12/22 which was odd to say the least but I still wasn’t expecting it so soon. It got delivered on Christmas Eve which we were sorry that a UPS driver had to deliver packages on Christmas Eve - (we did compensate the man) - I was really glad to be able to have it for my boy Christmas morning. I created a mini “living room / reading nook” underneath - it’s still coming together but I added slow changing multicolor led lights and Santa also brought my son a mini recliner so it looks great. This has saved me a ton of space in my sons room and honestly it couldn’t be more perfect. The height is great I can get to my son if needed but there’s a ton of space saving room underneath. I have nothing bad to say about this product. I do still kind of wish it had been black but I really didn’t want to send it back and make a big deal about a color - the gray does look really nice. My son loves his bed we haven’t had any issues he hasn’t complained about the ladder being uncomfortable to step on or anything so I don’t see the need to add on the pool noodle cuts to it to make it “comfy” - it’s not like he’s sleeping on the ladder and I do believe it’s probably safer without those added on to avoid any slips & falls. He miraculously hasn’t rolled off - that is still my biggest worry but he’s done good so far and I’m really not worried about it - if I find it necessary I will order a height extension rail for it. I find that this loft beds quality is worth more than the cost. It’s been a life saver and my sons room looks awesome. I’ll upload some pictures when I get a chance. If you’re thinking about ordering just do it when you have the means - I eye balled this baby for about a year and I wish I had just ordered it sooner!

Had for over a month now. Absolutely LOVE it for my 5 yr old. Wanted something to help free up some space in her room for toy area and this worked perfect. She can play and have toys under. Bed is short enough I didnt have to worry about a high fall. Bed was very simple and straight forward to put together. My husband had it done in less than 2 hrs, did it by himself other than needing help holding something every now and then. The bed does make creaking noises when moving around but nothing excessive. My kid loves it and im happy with the quality and price!
