Fit-Headless 4K is a must-have for server and colocation farms, SOHO and home servers and remotely-deployed headless PCs.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: SO, if this technically wireless? If so, with what (WIFI, Bluetooth, 2.4GHz, etc.)**
A: No, this device makes the computer think there is a physical monitor attached so the video card will support the video resolutions of the "ghost" monitor. You could use a wireless or wired connection to the computer using a Remote Desktop program that supports VNC or RDP protocols. So, this device itself is not wireless. Its purpose is to fool the computer into thinking that there is a monitor attached. Some computers like Apple's Mac Mini will provide only limited video resolutions and slow scan rates when you use them without a physical monitor attached. So when you use a Remote Desktop program, you may have only base VGA resolutions and slow mouse cursor response. This device solves that problem by making the Mac Mini think there is physical monitor attached with higher resolutions available.

**Q: Which of your two products ( FIT Headless and Headless 4K ) do I need to order to drive a headless Intel NUC ?**
A: Both will work. The 4K allows higher resolution. You would need a mini-HDMI to HDMI adapter with most NUC models.

**Q: I read that Mac Mini shows only 4 resolutions with fit-Headless 4K. Is that true?**
A: I am sharing my Mini's screen from another Mac with a 1920x1200 NEC professional display. If the Mini has an identical display actually connected, then I can get 1920x1200 on the controlling screen, and this is good. The best choice with the emulator plugged in to the Mini is a setting in the System Preferences>Displays corresponding to the 'Default for display', which is the same as '1080p' if selected manually. So, there is a mismatch between my controlling screen shape of 16:10 and the screen shape offered by the emulator, which is 16:9, leaving black bars on top and bottom of the screen. Holding down the 'option' key while choosing 'Scaled' in Displays preferences on the target machine does offer up some other resolutions, but not 1920x1200: 1600x1200 is too narrow in width, and the next size of 2560x1600 is 16:10 but results in small icons and type. For a Mini, the most practical solution is 1080p (1920x1080), but you can get that with the same company's cheaper non-4K emulator. Too bad.

**Q: This is great for a colo'd Mini. How about for a mid-2010 Mini w/ pre-Intel (nVidia) graphics, if I wanted to connect via HDMI to a 4k monitor?**
A: fit-Headless 4K is used INSTEAD of a monitor, so it would not be useful for your purpose. It fools the Mac Mini to think it has a monitor connected while there is none.
