They swept the situation under the rug. This will work wonders during night time and you can sleep in peace knowing that even someone with a key cannot unlock the door. I would also suggest replace the default half inch screws to the plate and the dead lock with 4 inch exterior screws. And make sure that the plate side hits the king stud. That way if they were to kick the door, they dont have to just break the door casing, they have to fight with the screws into the studs as well. Another small guy was about to get through those red handled motel door travel locks. This works so much better Edit: works great. Easily able to remove during rental inspections and easily installable again.
