The first one did not work so maybe the company has some quality control issues. For the price you pay for this, you'd expect it to work flawlessly. This second one does work really well. It can be played at quite high volume and still sounds good. I'm not using it exactly for its intended purpose but I expect it would work well for that. I was really happy to discover that I could rearrange the order of the audio files on the device. When you first turn it on, it always starts with the first file. It's easy to select a different file but in my case, I'm almost always wanting to play the same audio. I was able to move my audio file to the top of the list. The product description says you can add your own audio files to it and that was a big selling point for me. You have to download some software to interface your computer with the game caller in order to add your own audio files to it and to manage the order of those. The only weird thing was that the software completely screwed up the filenames when they copied onto the caller's storage. It was easy to fix by editing the filenames once the files were uploaded to the caller but my first attempt at uploading resulted in some frustration when I went to use the caller. The description is a little bit misleading because they say it has four speakers.
