Great buy!
These stackable bands really hit the spot! If you are a hard core lifter or competitor, these obviously won't be enough. Be realistic, people! If you are a huge guy lifting a ton of weight, of course they are not for you. They are not meant for competition. But for anyone else, these are great. I have worked out for years with free weights and machines. I had back surgery this year and can't lift heavy weights anymore. But I still want to be toned and strong. I shopped around for a long time-both in stores and online. You won't find a better deal than these. The price is unbeatable and the product is of good quality. For those of you afraid of breakage, I recently was sent an email from the company stating- "We have recently extended the warranty of this product to a lifetime warranty and would be more than happy to resolve any issues with this product under our new warranty policy. We believe in our products, and want to make you a believer as well. Thank you for making ProSource, your source!" Pros: 1. These bands don't take up a lot of space like free weights or weight stations. No more excuses of taking up too much space! 2. I love the fact that these bands can go wherever I go and take up little space when packing. Everything fits in the little bag. Being portable, you can also exercise outdoors when the weather is nice. I love going out on my deck in the morning and breathing in fresh air. I don't especially like breathing in the air in the gyms. And I get tired of working out in the same space day in and day out... 3. The ability to stack the bands gives much more resistance than other sets. More is not always better. You don't need to lug around 7 bands and 14 handles-there are many combinations with the 4 bands provided. If necessary, you can order stronger bands with the ProSource Set of 3 XTREME Stackable Heavy Duty Premium Latex Resistance Exercise Bands 4. Not all sets come with the ankle attachments. And the ones that come with this set are well padded with neoprene. They are not just nylon strapping like some sets I have looked at. The handles are also well padded, but not too much. 5. The door anchor works well for me. The stop is large enough to stay secure in a door when closed. Just make sure your door doesn't have an abnormally large gap before using it. 6. These are of good quality and have a lifetime warranty. Cons: 1. For a beginner, it may not seem to have quite enough information on exercises. But a quick look on the internet and YOUtube will give you all the information you need. And almost any exercise you have done with pulleys can be easily altered to be used with bands. 2. At first, I thought I wanted a bit more heavy duty carabiners for the attachments. But that would add both weight and bulk for packing. And if they ever failed, they are covered with a lifetime warranty. So it is not really a con, after all. Resistance bands are a great alternative to weights. You don't have to spend a bundle on equipment. You don't have to fork out a monthly gym membership fee. You can take it with you wherever you go. No hassles-the convenience makes you more likely to stick with it, and you are less prone to injuries from lifting incorrectly. These are great for a guy who wants to get in shape and be toned without getting bulky, women, and older folks who don't really want to lift weights. There is a reason they are so popular with physical therapists-they work!

Very impressed! Highly recommended
Compact- I was looking for something to workout with while I traveled, and didn't want to carry my heavy dumbbells around in my car. The bands are very compact and barely take up any space. I definitely don't think I'll travel without them. In addition to that I'm going to be using them at home as well because of the ease of use and ability to do so many different workouts. Resistance- I'm a personal trainer and I workout regularly. I was looking for something to do heavy workouts with, especially for my leg, back, and chest workouts. These resistance bands aren't the ones that the elderly should use for rehab. These bands have SERIOUS resistance. At first I was wondering whether it would be enough resistance if I stacked all the bands at once. When I actually did my first chest workout, I realized that I'm not going to be stacking them for a while. I was in pain with only the purple band (lowest one). I ended up buying the lighter ones (Red and blue) to warm-up with, use for supersets, and as I am tiring out. It's not just the equivalent weight that each band gives that makes the workout intense. It's the CONSTANT resistance that makes the workout so hard. Gravity can't help you here like with dumbbells. The pamphlet that it comes with shows a handful of workouts. But there's an enormous amount of resistance band workout videos on you tube that made me realize that these bands really can replace dumbbells, in terms of weight and workout type. The only downside is if you don't know much about proper form and how to do workouts you'll need to learn from youtube videos. When you want to change the weight, you can just clip and unclip very quickly. I'd suggest buying some of the lighter ones as well (red or blue) or warming up and better stackability. I also purchased some ankle cuffs for leg and ab workouts. Quality/Durability- At first I thought that these bands would be too strong for my old wooden door. But even with the strong resistance, I only found a tiny dent in the door's molding that I had to search for to notice. The door doesn't even squeak when I am doing the workouts. I really thought my door wouldn't handle a simple set with these bands. The actual bands are reinforced at each end so they don't snap during workouts. The metal clips are of high quality and not cheap. I don't know how these bands would snap on anyone. Overall- Highly recommended especially for the HIGH QUALITY and LOW PRICE. The other companies were very expensive especially for high weight resistance bands. I have already recommended these bands to one of my friend who didn't think that he can replace dumbbells with these. But he has something comin'.

Ok workout tools, but I wish it was more reliable and heavy-duty
These resistance bands deliver serious power and feel incredibly heavy-duty – the metal clips inspire confidence. The resistance levels are excellent; on some exercises, the heaviest band was genuinely challenging, even for max effort. For two years of consistent (though intermittent: a few days a week cycling with jogging) use, they held up well and were a great tool. However, a significant safety issue emerged recently: multiple bands snapped at the metal clips/loops over the last few months. This wasn't just a failure; it was dangerous – the flying metal ends hit me hard, causing real pain ("hurt like hell" is accurate!). CAUTION: This is a major drawback. I stored them in my garage with other equipment, and over time, I noticed discoloration and a general degradation before the snapping started. While storage environment might play a role, failure at the critical metal connection points after ~2 years of typical use is concerning. Despite the safety risk and eventual failures, the raw performance and initial durability were impressive for the price. The value proposition was strong enough during their functional lifespan that I'm actually considering buying them again, hoping my experience was an outlier or that storage was a bigger factor than I realized. Proceed with awareness of this potential long-term failure point.

Good quality and inexpensive
My husband and I have been working out at the same time so I needed at least an additional set of handles for the bands we already have. I had the option of either buying handles from the bands I have or putting a few more bucks with it and getting this full set. I absolutely made the right choice here. The bands are good quality and give decent resistance. Compared to the more expensive bands I have these do feel like they have slightly less resistance for the same listed weight and the attachment pieces are smaller and a little more difficult to work with. Since the bands are "stackable" it is easy enough to up the weight. Considering the price difference (these cost about one third of the others I have) I don't consider either of these to be problematic enough to deduct any stars. I actually prefer these handles to my others. Ankle straps were included; I haven't used them but they seem as though they would be comfortable enough. There is also an attachment to use these over or in a door, but it's small enough that i would be hesitant to use it. If you are looking to have a fairly high resistance, be prepared to either stack the weight or order a higher resistance set. On shoulder moves I use one of the smaller bands, but on biceps I use the heaviest, sometimes stacked with an additional band, so someone with more strength may find this particular set too light. I should note that I'm a smaller (5'2") female, so I'm naturally going to get less resistance at the top of most exercises than someone taller. Normally I don't note shipping in reviews but since my order was through the ProSource store on amazon and these are ProSource bands, I assume it is relevant to do so here since this would relate customer service of the company. I received a shipping notification within about two hours (this was not a prime order) and my product arrived in about three days. I don't think I've ever had such a speedy marketplace shipment.

Excellent product at a great price
I used to do a workout routine which included curling 120 lbs of dumbells every day before leaving for work. I haven't had the time to do that routine in six months, so I bought five of the black bands to get a light workout at my desk. I was VERY surprised at how much resistance each band provides. When I tried four bands I was only able to do six reps! I've gone down to using two and three bands. The resistance is far better than I expected. The clips are attached securely to the bands via a slip cut in the rubber (pretty smart - avoids stitches coming out). The handles are made reasonably well but I don't think the foam on the handles will stand up to very much abuse. Just taking a guess here, but I expect the foam will start to deteriorate in seven or eight months. I might be surprised. Even if they do though, each band comes with a handle. Since I bought five bands, I've got five sets of handles. I should have enough handles to last several years. The convenience of these bands can't be overrated. It's nice to be able to pull them out of my desk when I have a break and do a few sets. Can't do that with dumbells. I can take these traveling, and I can do all sorts of exercises. I will probably sell my dumbells and buy more of these bands.

Excellent product, excellent service
I am an ex-college athlete who still plays a lot of sports and works out regularly. P90x is something I'm giving a shot, more out of intrigue than need. Although I would prefer (and plan on buying) dumbells, I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of resistance bands. This is a first for me, so I had no idea what to expect. I like the way each band has it's own handle, which seems to be very comfortable and durable. On a couple exercises, the nylon straps rub and irritated my forearm, but that's going to happen with anything you use. If you are a gym rat, you might find the bands (all of them, not just this brand) to be too light. For example, I usually use dumbells in the 50-120 lb. range depending on what kind of lifting I'm doing. So, for some P90x exercises, a 20-25 lb. band is not going to be enough. However, I definitely recommend these bands to women and any one who is new to P90x or working out. The most impressive part of my purchase was the service. My kit was sent missing one of the bands. A service rep replied to my email within 2 hours with sincere, focused concern. The missing band was sent the next morning and on my doorstep two days later. Great service and great product. Thanks! PS. To Amazon... If you are going to edit my review, PLEASE at least have someone who speaks English do it. The last time I wrote a review, someone paraphrased it - who obviously does not speak English or never completed high school. Amazing that a company as large as Amazon can't hire English speaking employees. Stooopid.

SAFE, SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE. STRETCH IT TO THE LIMIT.
UPDATE: 3/15/14 My original review was 5-stars. Now, it's 3-stars. DESIGN FLAW: The weakest link always breaks first. THE ANKLE STRAPS. Lay the ankle straps flat out with the D-ring up. On the short side, there's 2-inch square of female Velcro next to the sewn-in product label. Flip the strap over with the D-ring down. On the short side, there is a 3-inch section of male Velcro. The space between these two sections of Velcro is the highest stress point on the ankle strap. It is nothing but stretch Lycra material. After 3 months of use, my ankle straps came apart at this location. It's a good thing I caught it before it broke while I was using it and broke out a window with industrial sling-shot force. The fix was simple enough by sewing zig-zag the above mentioned two pieces of Velcro together by hand with heavy polyester thread. Even so, unless a fix is done during manufacture, others will eventually have this same problem. This is just a head's up. After my fix, the units are once again 5-stars and I use and enjoy them daily. ORIGINAL REVIEW: After using a set of these ProSource bands for a month, I bought two more sets. They are versatile and afford many creative options...and they take up minimum space. So far, there is no muscle group that I have not been able to figure out a way to exercise. This is the most economical and space saving method I've found in over 60 years of serious exercise. Weights and exercise machines are great but there comes a time when doing solo bench presses with heavy equipment is not safe or practical. If you have adequate locations of varying heights to secure these rubber bands, the sky is the limit. The only problem I've had deserves a word of caution. I was stupidly holding one of the hand grips with my foot while doing curls with 4 bands attached. The handle slipped off my foot and gave me a shiner and a fat lip. And yes, it hurt. And nobody believed me when I tried to explain. For every problem, there's a solution. I cut an 18-inch long piece of 2-inch wide nylon strap from an old travel bag. After flaming the ends to prevent fraying, I overlapped the ends two inches and sewed them together with upholstery thread. I generously glued the belt-like accessory under the sole of an old tennis shoe and let it harden over night. The bow in the nylon strap on top of my shoe left plenty of room to run several rubber bands through it. It worked so well, I did the same for the other shoe. Then I bought enough rubber bands for each shoe so I wouldn't have to waste precious workout time swapping bands from shoe to shoe. I run the rubber bands through the loop and lock both ends onto the handle. This is perfect for doing curls, presses and a dozen other contorted exercises. These speciality tennis shoes make lazy workouts fun while watching sports on TV. Just relax in your favorite recliner and do curls and leg pumps with no fear of getting a bloody nose. If you're using several stretch bands, attach the ends to a larger spring snap link hook carabiner just like the ones on the stretch bands but larger. That way you only have to make one connection with each change. There no use making exercise any harder than it already is. In a workshop or garage, large eyebolts in the ceiling and walls afford unlimited options. Health professionals and experts agree that exercise, even more than diet, is the most important thing that one can do to ensure a long and healthy life. If you do both, you have an excellent chance to stretch it to the limit.

best resistance tubing I ever owned
I've been using resistance tubing for years and they all broke at their weakest link (of course) within 6 months (one only lasted a month). Some had cheap tubing, some had cheap handles, and others had both. This prosource resistance tubing is by far the highest quality and best tubing I've ever had. First of all the handles have metal d-rings instead reinforced holes in the fabric which eventually tear. The tubing itself is very high quality from what I can tell but we'll see how it holds up as I've only had it a couple days. The tubing is smooth and sturdy with a kind of glossy finish. Not the powdery, rubbery finish that cheaper tubings have. With the reinforced tubing ends and metal clips, handles with metal rings, and general high quality of the item I expect I'll have to buy a higher resistance level before this one wears out. Just a heads up I bought the purple and it's really dark. It's so dark I mistook it for black and thought they sent me the wrong one. Also it's a bit shorter than your average brand which I always found too long so these prosource are just right. They're no more expensive than other ones at the store but considerably better so you can probably tell these come highly recommended. Lastly I'll change my glowing review if they break within a year but I don't see it, thanks
