I have no idea what they're made of, but unlike the knockoffs I got at Walgreens, the teeth glide through hair like no other. I use them on both wet and dry hair with no problem. My texture is dry, ranging from wavy in the front to loose ringlets in the back and is prone to getting frizzy with dry brushing, so these have been a life saver - the perfect marriage brush and comb minus the frizz! Bonus: They fit easily into your purse or clutch! My mom always swore by them for her straight hair, and I really should have tried them sooner. I've had mine for a few years now and they are all still in perfect condition with no broken teeth, unlike the similar combs I purchased at Walgreens, which have fading paint and a few broken teeth. The Walgreens combs also seem to catch in my hair and don't glide like these.
