I was looking for a lightweight backpack I could take on trips to Europe, sort of like the one Rick Steves uses in his TV shows. I think this will be excellent to carry water and the little things I usually have to squish into my pockets. I will be using it with only one of the straps over my shoulder sort of like a shoulder bag. **Q: does this bag come with laptop sleeve?** A: If by sleeve you mean the internal pocket, then yes. And it holds my 15 inch laptop with protective case nice and snug. Also to note, the pouch the bag folds into, becomes an additional pocket inside for chargers, cables or whatever else you can tuck in there. **Q: What are the dimensions and volume (in liters) of this backpack? Is it a breathable nylon or the parachute type that makes your back sweat?** A: The bag is made of ripstop Nylon. The material is water resistant, so may not prevent back sweat. Dimensions are: 16IN x 12IN x 6IN **Q: Can you dynamically adjust / move the height of the shoulder straps? Or must one manually weave the fabric through to set it to a fixed strap length?** A: The shoulder pads are moveable, independent of strap lengths. I love that the packing sac is attached to the bag and can be flipped inside out to be used as a pocket inside the main area (it has a double sided zipper). The bag is great quality, lightweight, and spacious. Are there smaller packable day packs out there? Yes. But for the quality and comfort, the extra space and weight in my bag, its worth it.I have noticed with other bags that the shoulder straps are flimsy and cut into your shoulders. The shoulder straps on this bag are extremely comfortable and do not dig in. They even have padding in them!It was important for me to find a bag that could fit my laptop in it. I can fit my 13 inch laptop in the main section of the pack with room to fit other items as well. It might be tough to fit a larger laptop in it though due to the dimensions.I also love that the bag had two mesh waterbottle sleeves. The mesh sleeves have some elastic and are able to stretch a bit. They easily fit a standard plastic waterbottle and slimmer reusable water bottles. I am not sure if they will fit a larger nalgene style bottle or not.This bag has been through the ringer and is holding up nicely! I have used it hiking as well and is a great bag for day hikes! Very comfortable! Washes well.The bag also comes with an optional location finder ID. I did not use these feature so am not able to comment on it.Overall this is a great packable day bag! And it still receives 5 stars from me!I noticed after about 6 months of use, the inner lining (guessing the water resistance clear lining) started disintegrating and peeling off.
