Viking 3350 Welding Helmet

Most AD lenses darken to shade 9 or 8, with a resting shade of 4 or so. I bought my first AD welding hood 25+ years ago and have always been satisfied with it, using mostly shade 9, until, for medical reasons, I needed more light. This lens is bright enough during both the resting and active states with a good field of visibility. The hood is lightweight but seems adequately strong, at least for garage and home shop use, which is all the welding I do anymore. The headgear seems complicated but it's comfortable and holds the hood securely. The hood remains latched in the raised position, is easy to flip down and provides good protection without getting in the way. I also like the fact that this hood doesn't require expensive, proprietary cover lenses. After a short period of use, my initial impression is that this product offers a good combination of performance, value and warranty support, and I'm happy with my choice..

I'm a beginner welder and I wanted a decent helmet to start out with ads my eyes are very important to me. Well turns out this helmet was even better than I Had anticipated. My dad welds all the time and has now claimed it as his own. the other 6 he has just collect dust now. The auto visor works flawlessly, and the puddle is very clear to see while welding. easy operation even with gloves on to switch to grinding mode.

My last one lasted me roughly 12 years and took a lot of abuse since I'm a full time welder, although I had a fair bit of black tape holding things together it has lasted with no issues in performance. This one I'm hoping will last just as long, love the big viewing area. The only thing I have noticed is at times it is slow to react when striking an ark even with the sensitivity set up.

I wanted to try out the new auto darkening technology, and so glad I did. I did use a Jackson auto darkening hood and it was my favorite for years and I still have it. This Lincoln hood with the wide view and the new technology is the Best!! It is unbelievable how much better I can see the puddle. I’ve had this hood for a few years now and if for some reason it broke or stopped working, I would buy another right now. I recommend giving it a try.
