A simple and versatile way to ground yourself
I was actually going to make an outlet adapter for a wrist strap by taking a cord, clipping and insulating the hot and neutral, and connecting a wrist strap to the ground wire. Before I did that, I got to thinking, "I wonder if this already exists?" It does, and this is that product. Basically, you can set up a grounding strap anywhere that a properly grounded outlet is located, which is very handy and gives you a lot of flexibility to work on sensitive electronics without moving them. The grounding strap is nice and long, and they provide both a banana jack connector and an alligator clip. The outlet terminal itself has a female banana jack connector. My only minor complaint is that the plastic prongs that get inserted into the outlet can be pulled out accidentally. The stength of the grip holding the outlet terminal in place may vary depending on how "tired" the conductors in the outlet are. Be sure that the outlet is actually grounded, as some wiring can be sketchy. To test this, you can buy a simple outlet wiring tester with the three lights to ensure it's wired and grounded properly.

lifehack: easy discharge at your computer
Say you have a big static electricity discharge issue with your computers, because you live in a dry climate. Here's what you can do: get one of these per computer (although there are 2 straps here, one is for the wrist, and there's only 1 outlet adapter anyway). Pull off one alligator clip and then put the banana plug into the outlet adapter and that goes into either the wall or your power strip (surge protection irrelevant here, only the ground is connected). Then you buy something like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004ISKOII which is a thin metal coaster with a raised lip on the edge. There's enough clearance to get a couple alligator teeth onto the edge of it. Now, whenever you approach your computer, try to remember to touch the coaster before your USB peripherals. You'll still get the shock, but it will be safely dissipated. Also, when you're carrying your drink it will be near automatic to do this. And this drink aspect helps you build muscle memory to remember to do it even without a drink.

Good product
It works great, easy to use. My only problem is the cables are a little short.

No continuity in wrist strap snap
I read that some had trouble with continuity with the wrist strap ground. Had thought about what I was going to be working on and ordered 2 'sets'. Maybe one of the 2 wrist straps would work and have plans for some electronics that have a dedicated ground screw. Both of the wrist straps snap wires have no conductivity. Checked all over the metal parts of the wrist strap, which was fine. Put the alligator clip from the coiled wire that was working on wrist strap, that too was fine. Maybe it's the button part, is it worth shipping back? Thinking of cutting off the button and maybe solder the wire direct (if the cord has conductivity). Double checked everything and no continuity with the wrist strap button/wire. Others had said the plug into an outlet was causing problems. I have no problems with the plug fitting snug and secure in both my wall outlet and power strip at the work bench.

A brilliantly designed must-have aid for the computer upgrader.
This product oozes great design execution. I used to read about the importance of grounding one's self when doing any type of upgrade on a laptop or desktop. But, I took some advise on how to construct one's own wiring harness between a ground (from a 3-prong socket) and one's own wrist. However mine was awkward to use, and kept falling off while I tried to use it. So, after seeing a Youtube.com video where a demonstrator admitted that he was acting without one, I tried to justify foregoing the safety of using one while accesses the interior of my computers. This was a mistake that I admittedly got away with, but the predominant advice is still to use one, so, after researching the various commercially available ones, choose this one. It does not 'fall off' while you're using it, and the peace of mine you have when using it enables you to focus so well on the work at hand, without compunction.

works as advertised
I see a lot of videos about installing components in laptops and more but hardly see if anyone use a antistaic wrist ban. This one is great and priced just right. Definitely I would recommend purchasing one!

Works well
My original review was 1-star because I didn’t realize that there is *supposed* to be a 1 Megaohm resistor along the path of the wire, and mine was failing a continuity check. But that was my own ignorance - I switched to resistance measurement and got 1 Mohm on the nose!

Very well designed anti static bracelet
I like this anti-static bracelet a lot, well built and gives the wearer the option of working at a distance from the outlet, using the extension. Recommend this for sure
